All great organizations start with visionary leaders.
In the early 1970’s, Lloyd Beatty and Lou Satchell formed a partnership that launched this great organization. Known in the community as “Beatty Satchell”, Lloyd and Lou grew from two dreamers with a mission to one of the largest firms on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. They both recognized the need in our community for their expertise and philanthropy quickly became a pillar of their success. Early involvement in organizations like the Mid-Shore Community Foundation and the Waterfowl Festival, helped to solidify their place in Easton’s history. This model of “community above self” continues to resonate within BSC Group today. Beatty Satchell & Company continued to grow and became trusted advisors to our clients.
In the late 1990’s, a transition was taking place in the accounting industry.
Large corporations recognized the value and leadership smaller organizations played in their local communities. Beatty Satchell was approached by CBIZ about joining their organization. This change gave Beatty Satchell access to national level expertise, a robust training platform and an expansion of business service offerings. CBIZ continued to grow and was among the largest accounting firms in the United States employing more than 5,000 people in more than 150 locations.
With the growth of CBIZ, the Easton office began to lose their local identity. In July of 2020, BSC Group, LLC was formed and split apart from CBIZ. With local control and authority, BSC Group is now focused on what made Beatty Satchell & Company such a great organization. This begins with relationships and being recognized as trusted advisors. Additionally, each of our leaders continue the philanthropic nature that has been passed down over 50 years.
